Diablo IV: Couch Co-Op Guide

DIABLO IV

Diablo 4 will finally launch its first early access beta on March 17, 2023, and will run through March 19, 2023. In addition to the usual action RPG gameplay, players can test new multiplayer features such as couch co-op mode. The Diablo 4 beta has two co-op modes. These include a 4-player online co-op mode and a 2-player split-screen couch co-op mode.

Today's guide will cover how to enjoy Diablo 4's couch co-op system with a friend, the bonus XP you can earn, and the requirements for Open Beta.

How Couch Co-Op Works?

Multiplayer Couch Co-op refers to the ability to play with a friend on the same console. On all consoles (PS4, PS5, Xbox One & Xbox Series X/S), you can get another player to join you in the Diablo 4 Open Beta via couch co-op play. So, if you have a second controller, all you need to do is plug it into your console, give it to a friend in the same room, and you can play Diablo 4 simultaneously on the same screen.

For the Diablo 4 open beta weekend (March 17 at 9 a.m. to March 20 at 12 p.m. BST), one player must qualify for the beta by pre-ordering the game. Another requirement is that a second player will need to link their Battle.net account to a console-only account. For everyone in the Diablo 4 open beta weekend starting March 24, you'll still need a Battle.net account linked to a console account, but no special pre-order access is required.

Is there a Bonus for Diablo 4 Couch Co-op?

Diablo 4 will offer players bonus experience (XP) for banding together. If you are near another player while completing quests and defeating enemies, you will receive a 5% experience bonus. However, if you are near a party member, you will receive a 10% experience bonus.
