Diablo IV Arsenal System Explained

D4 Barbarian

The Arsenal System is a unique barbarian class mechanic being introduced to Diablo iv. It's automatically unlocked at Level 5 and allows you access to a list of weapon types and their bonuses. This mechanic allows you to assign specific equipment weapons for every attack skill and will grant additional bonuses depending on your expertise. They all start at Level 1 and can be leveled up to 10 throughout your battles in a linear progression. It's important to note that the details here are taken from the press preview access to Diablo IV and are subject to change.

Here are the details of the weapon types:

The Arsenal system is a great additional bonus to your build but should be used as something other than a build specific focus. So with this, make sure to assign weapons to your main damaging ability based on their DPS attack speed and or Lucky Hit chances rather than what benefits the Arsenal system. In the end, the weapon stats will provide a much larger benefit for your character rather than these stat boosts. It's also interesting to note that if you mainly use only one DPS skill, all other weapon slots become stat sticks to boost your primary weapon.

Leveling the Arsenal System is also very easy, attack with your weapon. The more you attack and inflict damage, the more level the System will receive. The Max level is ten and the additional bonus will come into effect once you achieve it. Note that a kill does not count as XP, it's based on hits. In addition, XP will not count in PvP interactions. The Arsenal System will only level on monsters. In the end, the Arsenal System benefits the Barbarian class and is only intended as a bonus, depending on the weapons you use.

The biggest concern, to be honest, is how stacked the Barbarian class is getting and if it poses any balancing issues. Regardless, we'll see as we near the release date. What are your thoughts on the Arsenal system?
