Diablo IV Renown System Explained - Get & Earn Renown

Diablo IV Renown System

Diablo IV sees with it a newly introduced incentive to get missions, dungeons, or even find items throughout the regions. So here's our look ahead at Diablo IV and its freshly introduced Renown system.

Diablo IV introduces a new method of progression called Renown system which serves as a reputation within all the different Sanctuary Zones. The Renown system is split into 5 stages and can provide benefits like D4 Gold, XP, skill points, Potion Charges, and more. Not to mention that many of these rewards are also account-wide. So here's what you need to know: Renown will always start with 0 for any new characters you start.

As you progress throughout the region, you get Renown points.

  • Discover Areas: 2 points
  • Activate Altars of Lilith: 5 points
  • Pick up Waypoints: 10 points
  • Complete a Side Quest: 15 points
  • Finish Dungeons: 20 points
  • Complete a Stronghold: 50 points

With each stage of the Renown system, you get some added benefits. So here is a breakdown of the stages and their rewards:

Stages Account Wide Character Bonuses Reward per Character
1. 80 points

+1 Skill Point

Each stage provides you with 10,000 Gold and some Experience (depending on Character Level and stage).

2. 100 points (180 Total)

+1 Potion Charge

3. 120 points (300 Total)

+1 Skill Point

4. 200 points (500 Total)

+1 Skill Point

5. 300 points (800 Total)

+4 Paragon Points

The recommendation I can give for Renown system is to complete stages 1-4 quickly. This way, you get three extra skill points for all characters. Clearing the 3 forts in every region is a quick 150 points, and finding and completing dungeons adds to that. Make note that random events and entering cellars do not count towards Renown. But as you progress, you'll find quick ways to add Renown efficiently and effectively. This way you'll be in a better position when starting out new characters.

So there you have it, everything Diablo 4 players need to know about the Renown reputation system. What are your thoughts on the Renown system? And if it's a good addition to the game, let me know in the comments. See you all in Sanctuary.
