Diablo IV Sorcerer Enchantment System

Many of you may remember the Barbarians' special Arsenal System, which allowed them to swap between a variety of weapons, greatly enhancing their power. For the Sorcerer, it's the Enchantment Slots. Today, we'll discuss the Enchantment Slots, a special Class mechanic for Sorcerers. This is one of the best mechanics exclusive to the class.

How the Enchantment Slots System Works?

You can significantly alter your spells using Enchantment Slots to increase their potency or add new effects. Players in Diablo 4 will automatically initiate the Priority Quest "Legend of the Magi," which is required to unlock the Enchanting Slots, once they reach level 15.

Sorceress skills can be placed into two locations: an active skill slot (that every other class also has access to), and an Enchantment slot. In Diablo 4, Enchantment slot can significantly improve a player's build. Sorcerer skills can be placed into either of the six active skill spaces (which every other class has access to as well) or the three Enchantment slot, which can hold a total of nine different skills. Although skills can be used in any slot, when in the Enchantment Slot, they cease to be active skills and instead become passive buffs.

For instance, using Ball Lightning as an active skill is rather simple: you summon a ball of lightning that advances slowly toward your enemies. Nevertheless, when used in the Enchantment Slot, it transforms into a passive ability that generates Ball Lightning at random. In essence, it changes from being a spell you cast to a proc ability. Ball Lightning will therefore trigger automatically while you play rather than being summoned when the spell is performed, making it something you cannot control when it occurs but don't need to do anything to trigger. Another illustration is the spell Meteor. You can summon meteors to fall on your foes using this active talent. It becomes a nice bonus when used in the Enchantment Slot passively.

Enchantment Slots are small but powerful additions to your build. You can slot certain skills for their offensive, defensive, resource or utility effects. They can enhance your build or expand its functionality.

The power you gain from Enchantments is very important and you can currently base your build on your Enchantments, your active skill or a mix of both.

Now that you know how the Sorcerer's Enchantment Slot system works, let's take a look at the Enchantment Slot effects for each skill to help you decide which builds you want to consider.
